UFC president Dana White is placing a lot of pressure on the upcoming fight between Ronda Rousey and Liz Carmouche. The two will compete in the first-ever female fight inside the Octagon at UFC 157: Rousey vs. Carmouche.
Rousey, the UFC female bantamweight champion, is the main reason White has taken an interest in promoting women.
“The talent-level (is growing). After the Miesha Tate-Ronda Rousey fight, I became interested,” said White, during a press conference Thursday promoting UFC on Fox: Johnson vs. Dodson. “With Ronda coming in, I feel there are three or four good fights. If the thing is successful, it will take off.”
White was further asked about mixing men and women inside the Octagon, to which he replied, “You will never see a woman fight a guy in the UFC.”
