UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson will make his first title defense this Saturday night against John Dodson. The two will compete in the main event of UFC on Fox: Johnson vs. Dodson from Chicago.
Johnson recently appeared on UFC Tonight and discussed where he plans to exploit Dodson inside the Octagon.
“You look at my last three fights and they’ve all been against high caliber guys and we’ve gone the distance each time,” Johnson said. “I know I can push my body five rounds, and keep the pressure on somebody and go the distance. I haven’t seen him do that yet, so we’ll see how he does that night.”
Johnson won the title in a tournament finale over Joseph Benavidez last year, while Dodson scored his shot at the belt by besting Jussier Formiga. He is also a former winner of The Ultimate Fighter.
