According to a report by the Sports Business Journal, some major changes are coming to FX and Fuel TV – two of the homes of UFC broadcasts since the promotion signed on with Fox Sports.
It appears that FX will no longer carry any sort of sports programming beginning in August. That may not have an impact on The Ultimate Fighter, which is classified in the entertainment genre.
Fuel TV will be re-branded as Fox Sports 2, while Speed – another network owned by the company that typically shows racing events and shows – will be called Fox Sports 1. Speed will be a complete sports network, with the hope that it can compete with ESPN.
UFC events and shows will remain on the various channels, though it could impact who receives them. Currently, cards are shown on Fox, FX and Fuel TV, while other programming is also carried on Fuel TV such as UFC Tonight, Ultimate Insider, and pre- and post-fight shows.
