Ed Soares was asked an impromptu question concerning UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva during a conference call Monday for UFC 156: Aldo vs. Edgar. The question concerned reports of Silva having signed a new 10-fight deal with the UFC.
It had been previously reported that “The Spider” had already inked the new contract, but Silva disputed those reports over the weekend when he was asked.
“The deal is on the table, not signed,” Soares said.
Soares was helping translate for the Brazilian fighters on the conference call, and declined to talk any further about Silva.
