Former Strikeforce female champion Miesha Tate has signed with First Round Management, according to a press release by the promotion. Tate is expected to join the UFC, though no contract has been signed to date.
“I am excited to be working with Malki Kawa as I further my MMA career,” Tate said. “My goal is to fight in the UFC and become the world champion, and I believe working with Malki and his team at First Round Management gives me the best opportunity to achieve that goal.”
Tate (13-3) won her last match, submitting Julie Kedzie. That followed a loss to Ronda Rousey in a match that drew incredible ratings for Showtime.
Kawa later posted on Twitter that we can “look for (Tate) to be in the UFC later this year.”
