Michael Bisping Credits Vitor Belfort, Vows To Return

For the third time in his UFC career, Michael Bisping was on the cusp of competing for the UFC title. And, for the third time in as many tries, the Brit failed to secure his championship match.

Bisping was stopped by Vitor Belfort Saturday night in the main event of UFC on FX: Belfort vs. Bisping from Brazil. His two prior title-eliminator losses came to Dan Henderson and Chael Sonnen.

“I have no excuses,” Bisping said. “I had an amazing training camp, felt fantastic. I was ready to fight. It was a beautiful kick. Congratulations Vitor.”

Belfort scored with a thunderous head-kick just a minute-plus into the second round, and followed up with some ground-and-pound that left “The Count” down and out.

Despite being promised a title shot with Anderson Silva if he defeated Belfort, Bisping said he isn’t going anywhere, adding, “you win some, you lose some; I am not going away.”
