Vitor Belfort vs. Michael Bisping
We’ve reached the main event for the evening, as Vitor Belfort (21-10) tries to play spoiler and keep Michael Bisping (23-4) from receiving a UFC middleweight title fight. Anderson Silva, the reigning UFC 185-pound champion, is in attendance. It has been confirmed by the UFC that Bisping will become the No. 1 contender with a win over Belfort. The referee is Dan Miragliotta.
Round 1: Bisping keeping his right hand high at all times to start. Bisping, though, isn’t just staying away, working to close the range and find a distance. Belfort throws a head kick that misses, as the crowd cheers wildly. Belfort fakes a flying knee and throws a jab. Bisping with a left to answer the offensive flurry. Not much action through two minutes of the opening round. Huge spinning kick by Belfort misses. Belfort lands a left, and follows with a shot to the body. Counter by Belfort catches Bisping coming in. Bisping using the jab now, but nearly gets caught again by Belfort. Stiff right followed by a left from Bisping. Belfort hurts Bisping near the end of the round, firing off several uncontested shots to claim the opener.

Round 2: Belfort comes out like he ended the first, pushing forward and attacking Bisping. A cut has opened up around the mouth of Bisping. Belfort lands a left-high-kick that floors Bisping and he pounces, finishing this one off and ending Bisping’s hopes of a title shot. The Brazilian crowd goes crazy screaming for Belfort, as Bisping is a bloody mess. Somewhere, Chris Weidman is thanking Belfort.
