Francisco Trinaldo vs. C.J. Keith
Welcome to our first match of the evening, as Francisco Trinaldo (11-2) takes on C.J. Keith (8-1) at lightweight. Unlike many cards in the U.S., the crowd is hot and heavy already despite this being the first match of the night. The referee will be Marc Goddard.
Round 1: Keith looking to find the range and stay away from Trinaldo’s power by using his kicks to start. Trinaldo being very patient, though, and lands a huge left after cutting off the cage and trapping Keith. Trinaldo follows up with a body lock, unloading with some nasty knees. Keith goes for a sort of trip, but Trinaldo keeps his balance and remains strong with the body lock. Trinaldo picks up Keith and slams him hard to the ground, much to the delight of the Brazilian faithful. Trinaldo into half-guard, using his free arm to beat on the body of Keith. Into full mount and Trinaldo is in a powerful position. Big lefts and rights by Trinaldo with two-plus minutes to go. Keith slips out and goes to the guard position of Trinaldo. Trinaldo looking for an armbar from the guard, holding tight to avoid it. Keith postures up and lands a big left to free himself. Back to their feet and Keith has Trinaldo up against the cage. Trinaldo slips to the back and gets a takedown, as Keith searches for a kimura. No luck on the submission for Keith, and Trinaldo is now in a dominate position.

Round 2: Keith looking very hesitant to tie up here in the beginning, and catches an over-hand left from Trinaldo. Big high-kick attempt by Keith misses, and Trinaldo bullies Keith to the fence. Trinaldo grabs a single-leg and looks for a huge takedown, but is unable to get it and moves to a body lock. Trinaldo with a massive overhead belly-to-back suplex and moves to a head-and-arm choke. Keith signals he is fine, but after tightening the grip, Keith taps.
