Former UFC fighter Kimbo Slice will return to the boxing ring later this month, taking on Shane Gilyard on the undercard to an event in Australia.
Slice, who was released by the UFC after going 1-1, has posted six victories since switching over to boxing. Gilyard is the QLD heavyweight boxing champion.
The event takes place January 30 from the Sydney Entertainment Centre in Sydney, Australia. It will air via Main Event’s website.
“Tilyard thinks he’s been in the right with tough guys but he’s never been in there with a monster like me,” Slice said. “He better be ready because I’m coming to knock his head off and show the fans of Australia who the real KO King is.”
Slice fought six times inside the cage, going 4-2. He was a competitor on The Ultimate Fighter, but was defeated by eventual champion Roy Nelson. Slice topped Houston Alexander in his UFC debut, before falling to Matt Mitrione in 2010.
