With the Bellator Lightweight Championship on the line, its…
Michael Chandler (c) vs. Rick Hawn
Round 1: Chandler takes the center of the cage and begins stalking Hawn, who tries to keep him at bay with the threat of a lead hook. A minute and a half in Chandler easily snags the single-leg takedown, and the champ goes to work from within the challenger’s guard. Hawn keeps him tied up, and the two trade elbows. Hawn works his way back to his feet methodically, and they trade leather, with the Olympic judoka landing a punch that lets Chandler know he’s got power.
FightLine scores the round 10-9 for Chandler.
Round 2: Chandler comes in, wraps his arms around his opponent’s waist, lifts him up and slams him to the canvas after only 45 seconds have gone by. The champ presses him against the cage and does a great job battering him with knuckles and elbows.
Hawn almost makes it back to his feet, but Chandler throws him back down, takes his back, and slips on the rear naked choke. Hawn has no other option but to tap out.
