Daniel Cormier doesn’t take kindly to trash talking. Former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir is often times remembered for his remarks towards Brock Lesnar in which he said he hoped that he died in the Octagon.
Well, as these two likely begin a journey towards facing off later this year, you can bet the end is nowhere near for either fighter.
Mir went on MMAjunkie.com Radio Monday and said he was less-than impressed by Cormier’s recent win over Dion Staring. Mir added that, “I think Daniel Cormier’s done a great job of pushing himself up…being in Strikeforce. (He) might as well come over and fight name guys right off the bat.”
It didn’t take the former Olympian long to respond, as Cormier posted on Twitter, “he really doesn’t wanna (expletive) me off.”
Cormier challenged Mir to meet him on April 20 at UFC on Fox 7. No word yet from the UFC on if the fight will be made.
