Scott Coker posted throughout Saturday night on Twitter, reflecting on the final Strikeforce event at Strikeforce: Marquardt vs. Saffiedine. Following the main event, Coker entered the cage and offered up some words.
“It’s a tough thing, but I am so happy for these guys that fought (Saturday),” Coker said. “This is the pinnacle of my career.”
Coker founded Strkeforce in 1985 as a kickboxing promotion, evolving into MMA in 2006. The promotion has been broadcast on CBS and Showtime in the U.S., and was purchased by Zuffa in 2011.
“We’ve done some great work in mixed martial arts, but it’s time,” said Coker, who has yet to reveal if he will work with Zuffa and the UFC in the future.
