When Gunnar Nelson (10-0-1 NC) fights, he doesn’t have to worry about the judges’ scorecard. That’s because in all his fights, he has finished his opponents.
“That’s always been my strategy. I’ve always been, I don’t want to say ‘aggressive’, but when you’re in there and it is ‘go time,’ you don’t want to give anything up,” said Nelson. “You don’t want to leave it to the judges and you don’t want to spend more time in there than you need.”
With the exception of one win, Nelson has ended all his fights in the first round. He has fought completely out of Europe, including his last fight which was his UFC debut. That was a submission win over welterweight DaMarques Johnson at UFC on FUEL TV back in September.
Next month, Nelson will continue to look for success when the UFC returns to England. On that show, Nelson meets Justin Edwards.
Nelson vs. Edwards is set for the main card of UFC on FUEL TV on February 16. The show comes from the Wembley Arena in England.
