Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal (8-1-1 NC) revealed that in addition to his current Bellator contract allowing him to compete in professional wrestling it also has a boxing clause. Lawal is able to compete in boxing matches as long as Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney agrees with the opponent. Lawal has interest in former UFC fighter Kimbo Slice.
“I think King Mo vs. Kimbo Slice would be a good boxing match,” said Lawal to Bloody Elbow. “I got good training, he’s got good training. I want to make it happen.”
Lawal is currently set to make his Bellator debut in the Season 8 light heavyweight tournament. He meets Przemyslaw Mysiala at Bellator 86 in the opening round on January 24 from the WinStar World Casino in Thackerville, OK.
Slice was released from the UFC after he failed to win The Ultimate Fighter and a fight that followed in 2010. He has not competed in MMA since. He became a boxer in 2011 and is 6-0. Five of those fights he ended by knockout in the first round.
“So my main goal is to get through this tournament, win it, defend it, defend the belt once or twice and after that get that fight with Kimbo,” said Lawal.
