According to documents received by MMA Junkie in the ongoing lawsuit between Eddie Alvarez (24-3) and Bellator, the UFC has offered a lucrative deal that includes an immediate lightweight title shot in March against Benson Henderson (18-2).
The UFC has two shows planned for March. Those are UFC on FUEL TV from Japan which is set for the 3rd of the month and the UFC 158 PPV which takes place from the Bell Centre in Canada on the 16th.
The guaranteed title shot by the UFC would be part of an eight fight deal with Alvarez that would pay $70,000 to show up and another $70,000 for each win. Alvarez’s pay would increase by $5,000 for each win until it tops out at a promised $210,000 per fight. For signing he would be paid $250,000.
For every buy a show does with Alvarez on, he would get a percentage based on how many people watch.
It also confirms Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney’s earlier statement about matching the deal. It showed that that any mention of the UFC and Zuffa was crossed out and replaced with Bellator. In addition, Bellator offered a $250,000 resigning bonus, $25,000 for a behind-the-scenes show, $100,000 for coaching on season two of their new upcoming reality show and a guest host spot on “Road to the Championship.”
