After Paul Daley (30-12-2) was arrested in late December for a bar fight, obtaining a visa became an issue and Bellator had to scratch him from any future appearances until the matter is resolved. Daley then stated that Bellator would not allow him to compete for another promotion, but that seems to be in the past now.
Cage Contenders president John Ferguson now has Daley set to meet Patrick Valle (9-4).
“We are very happy that Bellator have allowed Paul to take part in the card because he’s got a lot of fans in the UK and Ireland and it’s been a while since they’ve seen him fight on home soil,” said Ferguson to Fighters Only. “With ‘Semtex’ the fans know there’s a big chance of a big knockout and they love watching him.”
Valle went 2-2 in 2012 and like Daley will be making his Cage Contenders debut. Daley competed once for Bellator since signing with them when he earned a first round knockout over Rudy Bears (14-11). Valle and Daley are set to meet February 23 from the National Basketball Arena in Ireland.
Daley has a court appearance set for April in hopes of obtaining a new visa.
