$100,000 Grand Prize Made Seth Petruzelli Enter The Bellator Tournament

Seth Petruzelli (14-6) wasn’t interested in competing for the upcoming Season 8 light heavyweight tournament out of Bellator, but the possibility of making $100,000 for winning the whole thing made him change is tune.

“I love fighting, but I’d rather take exciting fights on a fight-per-fight basis with big-name guys,” said Petruzelli to MMA Junkie Radio. “The tournament wasn’t my choice.”

Petruzelli will make his second Bellator appearance when he meets Jacob Noe (8-1) in the opening round of the tournament. After dropping two in a row out of the UFC, Petruzelli was released. He has won his last two fights by way of knockout in the first round. Noe is also making his second Bellator appearance and is on a six fight win streak.

Petruzelli vs. Noe takes place at Bellator 85 on January 17 from the Bren Events Center in Irvine, CA. The show will be Bellator’s debut on Spike TV and starts at 10 p.m. ET.
