When one in the MMA world has the last name Gracie, there’s lots of pressure due to the family’s legacy in the sport. The same applied to Rolles Gracie (8-1) who didn’t fare well in his sole UFC appearance. He was TKO’d by Joey Beltran (15-8) at UFC 109. Gracie has since won all five of his fights by submission.
Gracie now finds offers coming in from several organizations. While he is under contract to ONE FC and the World Series of Fighting, he is exploring his options.
“We all know that the best heavyweights are in the UFC,” said Gracie to MMA Weekly. “That’s a thing I was talking about with Ali [Abdel-Aziz] my manager about, let’s see what’s out there, what doors are open. I still want to test myself against the best.”
In all of his eight career wins, Gracie holds the distinction of ending them by submission. In 2012, Gracie defeated Bob Sapp, Tony Bonello and Yusuke Kawaguchi. The most recent win came on December 31 at Inoki Bom-Ba-Ye 2012 in Japan.
