An injury to Roger Hollett has forced the UFC to bring in another newcomer for next Saturday’s UFC on FX: Belfort vs. Bisping card. Wagner Prado will now welcome Ildemar Alcantara to the Octagon in a prelim bout on Janury 19.
The news of Hollett’s injury was first reported by SporTV.com out of Brazil. The card takes place from Sao Paulo, Brazil, with a main event between Vitor Belfort and Michael Bisping.
Alcantara (17-5) is the reigning Jungle Fight middleweight champion and brother of UFC veteran Yuri Alcantara. He is on a seven-fight win streak, including an 11-1 mark in his last 12.
Prado (8-1) has fought Phil Davis twice since joining the promotion. The first match ended in a no-contest, while the second was a submission defeat Prado suffered – the first loss of his career.
Yuri Alcantara will also be competing on the same card, as he meets Pedro Nobre in a prelim contest.
