Christian M’Pumbu To Defend Bellator Title At Bellator 91

Bellator light heavyweight champion Christian M’Pumbu will defend his title at Bellator 91 in February against recent tournament winner Attila Vegh. Bellator officials confirmed the bout for February 28 from Rio Rancho, New Mexico.

“I am extremely excited about this opportunity to defend my Bellator light heavyweight world championship,” M’Pumbu said. “I look forward to getting back in the cage and putting on a show for all of the amazing Bellator fans.”

M’Pumbu (18-4-1) recorded three straight knockouts to claim the season four title and world championship in the process. He fought in a non-title fight against Travis Wiuff in late 2011 in his last bout. M’Pumbu was defeated.

Vegh (28-4-2) is a perfect 4-0 inside Bellator, including the 2012 “Summer Series” tourney title. The win netted Vegh a shot at the belt.
