Former UFC heavyweight champion Bas Rutten stepped in at Invicta FC 4 to handle play-by-play commentary. When the show concluded, Rutten said that he was proud of the all-female MMA promotion, and thinks that others should take notice of their performance.
“I think they’re going to have to admit that the ladies are here to stay,” said Rutten to MMA Weekly. “All the fights that went to a decision were action packed. These girls come in shape. There’s constant pressure and action. You almost can’t find this in the guy’s MMA. There’s a lot of guys who run out of gas.”
While Rutten has called MMA fights for several promotions, Saturday was his debut for Invicta FC. It is not known if Rutten will return to the announce position for Invicta FC 5 in April.
