Jamie Varner’s (27-7-1-2 NC) win is still fresh, but that hasn’t stopped him from looking ahead. Four lightweights came to mind when Varner thought about who he wants to fight next. Those are Rafael dos Anjos, Ross Pearson, Matt Wiman and T.J. Grant.
“If I can get one of those guys that can push me toward No. 1 contender guys, that’s the guy I want the most,” said Varner to MMA Junkie Radio.
Anjos is coming off of three wins in 2012. After Pearson finished coaching on The Ultimate Fighter, he won when he met opposing coach George Sotiropoulos. Wiman and Grant meet later this month at UFC on FOX 6.
Due a thumb injury sustained at UFC 155 from his decision win over Melvin Guillard, Varner is out until April.
