Mizuto Hirota will make his UFC debut in his native country of Japan, as UFC officials have announced the former Strikeforce fighter will meet Rani Yahya at UFC on Fuel TV: Silva vs. Stann. The card takes place March 3 from the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan.
Also, Marcelo Guimaraes will battle Hyun Gyu Lim in a likely prelim contest. The Hirota-Yahya bout is expected to be on the main card.
Hirota (14-5-1) is a former champion in both World Victory Road and DEEP at lightweight, but will be moving to the featherweight ranks inside the Octagon. He is 4-2 in his last six, with losses to Pat Healy and Shinya Aoki on his resume.
