Marcus Davis says that he never offered to fight Paul Daley for Cage Contenders in Ireland. He noted that the promotion offered him $6,000 to take the fight on a month’s notice, but said that he could make much more than that fighting in his home country. Daley recently called out Davis for pulling from the fight.
Davis said that Cage Contenders “probably got into Daley’s head” and nothing ever materialized after the initial offer. Daley has since gone to his Facebook account to bash Davis.
“I thought I graduated high school over 21 years ago,” said Davis MMA Junkie. “I’m not going to get roped into fighting a fight.”
Daley still has no opponent and Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney said that Daley has not been given permission to compete for another promotion. Daley is under contract to Bellator, but cannot fight in America due to visa issues stemming from a bar fight in late December. A court date is set for April to see if Daley can obtain a new visa.
