Joe Lauzon Not Interested In Another Bloody Fight

Joe Lauzon (22-8) left UFC 155 a bloody mess thanks to Jim Miller (22-4). Moving forward, Lauzon looks to lighten the amount of punishment he absorbs.

“I’m glad people enjoyed the fight, but I’m not looking to go out there and look like a zombie after every fight,” said Lauzon to MMA Junkie. “I want to have exciting fights, but I don’t want to be the guy that’s exciting because he gets beat up so much.”

Miller defeated Lauzon by unanimous decision. Lauzon walked out of the Octagon with both eyes swollen and several gashes. The largest one was above his eyebrow and was about two inches long. It required around 40 stitches to close.

Lauzon earned roughly $100,000 for the fight and with a few more fights he plans to finish paying for his house. Both men took home Fight of the Night honor bonuses. For his next fight Lauzon is looking for another honor bonus, but in a different form.

“I wish it could have been a Submission of the Night,” said Lauzon.
