Mark Muñoz (12-3) is ready for a change of pace in 2013. Last year, his four fight UFC win streak was snapped and he was involved in a minor car accident to top the year off. Muñoz is now preparing to take his striking ability to a new level.
“You are going to see a different Mark Muñoz in 2013,” said Muñoz to Bleacher Report. “Especially when it comes to a more well-rounded striking game. That has always been my weak link and people know that. Striking is an area I’ve put a lot of focus on and people are going to see improvements.”
Before Chris Weidman (9-0) knocked Muñoz out at UFC on FUEL TV in July, many considered him the No. 1 contender in the middleweight division. That loss knocked him out of the title picture. There currently is no confirmed No. 1 contender in the division.
Muñoz’s return is not known, but he wanted the fans to be ready for a new fighter upon his next fight.
