Strikeforce: Marquardt Vs. Saffiedine Live Results, Coverage On Jan. 12, Current Card

Strikeforce welterweight champion Nate Marquardt will make history on Saturday, January 12 as he competes in the final main event in the promotion at Strikeforce: Marquardt vs. Saffiedine.

Marquardt, a former fighter in the UFC, will face Tarec Saffiedine in his first – and last – defense. Marquardt won the belt over Tarec Saffiedine.

Strikeforce will be closing up shop following the show, and several fighters are expected to sign with the UFC. The promotion was planning three title fights for the event, but two champions – Gilbert Melendez and Luke Rockhold – were unable to train properly following injuries.

FightLine will be providing complete coverage of the entire event, which includes Daniel Cormier, Josh Barnett, Gegard Mousasi, Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza and others.
