UFC president Dana White allowed Erik Perez to wear a mask to the weigh-ins, for his entrance and even after his performance Saturday night at UFC 155: Dos Santos vs. Velasquez II.
If that had anything to do with his performance, Perez did not disappoint, stopping Bloodworth after a vicious knee to the body and a series of uncontested shots in the opening round.
Since entering the UFC, Perez (13-4) has won all three of his bouts via first round stoppage. He is currently on an eight-fight win streak.
“Yeah, I have pressure, but I just (continue) training hard, stay focused and keep fighting hard,” Perez said.
The Mexican youngster who turned 23 last month has also defeated Ken Stone and John Albert since joining the UFC. Of his 13 career wins, 11 have been via TKO, KO or submission.
