Cesar Gracie About Taking On New Fighters

Cesar Gracie is open to outsiders joining his camp, but isn’t one to reach out. He feels that taking another team’s fighter is wrong and it’s not how he handles business.

“I’m not one to take someone from a camp,” said Gracie to Fight Hub. “That’s not my style. If they came over on their own, I would take a good hard look over them.”

The Cesar Gracie Jiu-Jitsu facility center is located in California and has housed Strikeforce champions in the past.

Some of the top names to come out of Gracie’s team include the Diaz brothers, Strikeforce lightweight champion Gilbert Melendez (21-2) and Jake Shields (27-6-1-1 NC). Nick Diaz (26-8-1 NC) will be his next student to challenge for UFC gold after his younger brother Nate Diaz (16-8) failed to capture the lightweight title from Benson Henderson (18-2).

Diaz vs. Georges St-Pierre (23-2) for the welterweight championship takes place at UFC 158, on March 16, from the Bell Centre in Canada.
