WSOF Signs Another Lightweight

Another lightweight has signed with the up-and-coming MMA promotion World Series of Fighting (WSOF). Rondinelli Rodrigues Gomes (25-5) announced over the weekend that he signed a contract.

“The hiring came at a great time because I was unmotivated and now I’m super happy and focused for the premiere,” said Gomes to TATAME. “Fans can expect a Rondinelli changer, finisher, very well trained and focused. That will give MMA show to the public.”

The 30-year-old is a black belt in jiu-jitsu who has fought across Brazil for the last nine years. He currently holds a three fight win streak, where all of those have come way of submission.

Gomes hopes to debut for the WSOF in early 2013 as he works on completing his visa. The next WSOF card has not been announced, but officials said they planned to run around eight shows in 2013.

Other notable lightweights who have joined the WSOF roster are Miguel Torres (40-6), Gesias Cavalcante (17-6-1-2 NC), Anthony Johnson (14-4) and Paulo Filho (23-4-2).
