Despite working his way into a title shot, Strikeforce lightweight contender Pat Healy has yet to be added to the UFC’s roster. Fighters.com confirmed with sources close to Healy that the UFC has not made an offer to “Bam Bam” yet.
Healy was scheduled to face Gilbert Melendez for the Strikeforce lightweight title this past September and again in January, but Melendez was forced out with an injury.
Healy had been given Jorge Masvidal has a replacement, but Masvidal is also injured now and will not be able to compete on the January 12 Strikeforce: Marquardt vs. Saffiedine event.
The 29-year-old Healy (28-16) is currently on a five-fight win streak that includes a pair of submission victories. Several Strikeforce fighters have signed contracts in the past few days to compete in the UFC, but Healy has yet to do so.
