According to The Orange County Register, Robbie Lawler will make his return to the UFC in early 2013. Lawler is expected to meet Josh Koscheck at UFC 157: Rousey vs. Carmouche on February 23 from Anaheim.
Lawler (19-9) went 4-3 in his previous stint with the UFC before moving to Icon Sport. He also had stops in EliteXC and Strikeforce since competing inside the Octagon.
Lawler knocked out three opponents in Strikeforce, but also lost five times. He was defeated by Jake Shields, Renato Sobral, Ronaldo Souza, Tim Kennedy and Lorenz Larkin.
Koscheck (17-6) has been a staple in the UFC, earning a welterweight title shot. He has been on the sidelines with an injury for the better part of 2012.
UFC officials have since confirmed the initial report, saying the bout is in place to go down in 2013.
