Former UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez would have no second thoughts about competing in Mexico. First, however, Velasquez will tackle Junior dos Santos for the UFC title at UFC 155: Dos Santos vs. Velasquez II on December 29.
Mexico appears to be a future destination for the UFC, as they continue to push towards new masses of people. The promotion has already returned to Japan and debuted in China earlier this year, along with holds events in Australia, England and Canada.
“If the UFC ever does go to Mexico, I want to fight there,” said Velasquez, during a conference call on Wednesday.
Velasquez was born in the U.S., but his father is from Mexico. He became the first Mexican American to secure the UFC heavyweight championship when he defeated Brock Lesnar in 2010.
