Cesar Gracie, the trainer and manager for Nick Diaz, sent word out Friday that Diaz has signed on to face Georges St-Pierre. The bout is expected for March and Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
“Nick Diaz vs GSP is on!” Gracie posted on Twitter.
Diaz, the former Strikeforce welterweight champion, was unsuccessful earlier this year in a bout with Carlos Condit for the interim UFC title. He was suspended following the fight for a failed drug test, but is expected to be cleared in February.
St-Pierre toppled Condit last month to unify the UFC titles in his return after nearly two years away from competition. GSP personally asked UFC president Dana White for a match with Diaz after the two had a pair of previous fights cancelled.
