Paulo Thiago’s (14-5) future wasn’t certain after he dropped four of his last five UFC fights. Then, the UFC inked him to a deal multi-fight deal.
“I just renewed my contract in the UFC,” said Thiago to TATAME. “I have four more fights and I’ll train to enforce this opportunity in my career.”
In 2009, Thiago entered the UFC undefeated with 11 fights to his name. After going 3-1, the wins started to halt and Thiago’s UFC record is now 4-5. He lost both his fights this year with his last win coming out of 2010.
After losing to Kim Dong-Hyun (16-2-1-1 NC) in November, Thiago looks to change where he trains. He’s currently still talking with his manager about where to head.
“I have this need to evolve,” said Thiago. “Now is the right time to seek a new direction for my career.”
