Alessio Sakara’s quest to have his defeat via disqualification vs. Patrick Cote changed has been denied. The two fought earlier this month at UFC 154: St-Pierre vs. Condit in Montreal.
Sakara’s camp had hoped the Quebec athletic commission would change the bout to a no-contest. It seemed like there was plenty of confusion after it had been stopped, as Sakara believed he had earned a TKO victory before the referee ruled he struck Cote in the back of the head after repeated warnings were issued.
“The decision of the arbitrator is final and without appeal,” Joyce Tremblay, a spokesperson for the board told LaPresse.
Sakara is now 15-10 in his career, including three consecutive defeats.
