Mark Hominick Knows His Back Is Up Against A Wall At UFC 154

Mark Hominick realizes he is already being given an opportunity many fighters do not receive. Hominick riding a three-fight losing skid, will face Pablo Garza this Saturday night at UFC 154: St-Pierre vs. Condit.

The former UFC featherweight contender understands that he likely will not be given another chance by the promotion should he fail to defeat Garza.

“Three straight losses is almost unheard of in the UFC,” said Hominick during a recent interview with “This is a must-win situation.”

After securing a title shot vs. Jose Aldo in 2011, Hominick (20-11) has been unable to reach the pay window. He suffered a decision loss to Aldo, was knocked out by Chan Sung Jung, and was on the wrong end of a split decision defeat to Eddie Yagin this past April.

However, the 30-year-old Canadian believes he performs at his best in this kind of situations, saying, “I like the added pressure. I’ve been in a situation before where I’ve had a couple of losses and then come back strong. I know I’m capable of doing it, and that’s my intent again.”
