Chris Weidman Gathering Clothes, Supplies For Hurricane Sandy Victims

Chris Weidman was hit hard by Hurricane Sandy, but he knows there are people out there who were left with even less than he was. Weidman, a UFC middleweight who is scheduled to fight in December, will be working to help those in need on Sunday.

“Hey guys I will be collecting clothes and supplies for those affected by Hurricane Sandy,” Weidman posted on Facebook Saturday. “They will be distributed in various places on Long Island the the Boroughs. I will be at St. Peter’s Church on Grand Ave. (Sunday), November 4 from 3-5 p.m. At 5 (p.m.) St. Peter’s is having a pot luck dinner (you can bring something or just come out if you need a meal or need somewhere to charge your phone and keep warm).”

Weidman remained in his home Monday as Hurricane Sandy hit the East Coast. His wife and kids had evacuated, but “The All-American” wanted to remain behind to try and keep his house as together as possible.

Currently, Weidman is set to face Tim Boetsch in a key 185-pound contest December 29 at UFC 155: Dos Santos vs. Velasquez II.
