Joseph Henle Looks To Cap 2012 With Gold Around His Waist

Joseph Henle (8-0) may not have won The Ultimate Fighter, (TUF) but he’s not complaining because he now has a chance to win his first championship.

“Coming from my time on The Ultimate Fighter, I’ve grown leaps and bounds,” said Henle to MMA Weekly. “Not necessarily in technique, but in comfort and how I string things together.”

Later today, Henle looks for his fourth win since January when he takes on Elvis Mutapcic (11-2) for Maximum Fighting Championship (MFC) to determine the middleweight champion.

Henle, who walks into the fight undefeated, fought this past August in his MFC debut. In took less than two minutes for him to secure the TKO win. Mutapcic competed on the same show with mirror image results.

“If I can get a win over Elvis that will be four wins this year, my first signing to a major organization after TUF, and winning a major title,” said Henle.

If Henle wins, he sees 2013 as a year of big name fights for himself.

“So this year is going to be one of the best so far,” said Henle. “From there on, I’ll just be looking forward to bigger fights and seeing what we can do in the MFC and where it can take us.”

MFC 35 takes place today from Canada and can be seen live on AXS TV.
