Carlos Condit Not Feeling Pressure Fighting In Georges St-Pierre’s Hometown

Going into UFC 154, Carlos Condit (28-5) is ready for the reaction he will receive in champion’s home country of Canada when he takes on Georges St-Pierre (22-2).

“Fighting in front of Georges St-Pierre hometown might throw a lot of other guys off, but mentally I’m going to be strong and be able to put that aside and do what I need to do,” said Condit.

Condit vs. St-Pierre headlines UFC 154, where the champion will have home field advantage when they compete in Quebec, Canada.

The fight will mark St-Pierre’s return to action for the first time in 17 months after an ACL injury to his right knee. He will enter looking for his seventh championship defense since winning the title for a second time in 2008.

Condit enters as the division’s interim champion since February of this year. He had waited for St-Pierre to return so they could unify the championships. After losing in is first UFC fight, Condit has gone on to win his last five. Along the way, he took home several bonus awards for his performances.

“I’m on the preface of achieving my life goal,” said Condit.

UFC 154 will air on November 17 from the Bell Centre.
