Rashad Evans Would Accept Match With Anderson Silva If Offered

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Rashad Evans was asked if he would accept a fight with UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva if it was presented to him by the UFC. Evans, appearing on UFC Tonight Tuesday, was quick to answer.

“I would,” Evans said. “That is just a big opportunity to fight Anderson Silva. He is one of those guys I consider my favorite to watch, and to get to fight him would be a dream come true for me.”

Evans (17-2-1) has not competed since a decision loss to Jon Jones for the UFC light heavyweight title this past April. He had won four consecutive prior to the defeat.

As for who “Suga” would prefer to fight next, that would be the same man who handed him his first career loss: Lyoto Machida.

“I would like to fight Lyoto Machida again,” Evans said. “He looked good against (Ryan) Bader. I want to get that one back – bad.”

Machida knocked out Evans back in 2009 to claim the UFC 205-pound title.
