Bellator has a new welterweight to their roster with the recent signing of Sergio Junior (28-11-3).
“I’ve been negotiating with Sergio Junior Bellator for some time and finally reached an agreement that was interesting both for us and for them,” said Marcelo Brigadeiro, head trainer of Renovacao.
Renovacao has had several names sign with Bellator.
Brigadeiro revealed that the fighter will finish any prior commitments before debuting for Bellator. There is no timeframe for when he will make his debut or against whom.
“Sergio has not yet set a date for his debut and will comply with all the fights we had already closed for him here in Brazil,” said Brigadeiro.
Sergio is currently on a five fight win streak. All of them have taken place this year. In June he competed successfully in three matches on one card at Pentagon Combat from Brazil.
