Roy Nelson Open To VADA Drug Testing, Shane Carwin Not As Quick

Voluntary Anti-Doping Agency (VADA) has offered to test both The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) head coaches prior to their meeting. Roy Nelson has agreed and a representative for Shane Carwin said the fighter was unaware of the offer.

“Our office has not been contacted and you can contact us or Shane right through his website. He even tweeted his phone number so it is not like we are avoiding anyone’s call.”

Despite not giving a definite answer, Nelson was certain that Carwin was not using any performance enhancing drugs.

“This fight is going to happen but it’s going to be fair,” said Nelson to MMA Weekly. “I know Shane has never failed a drug test in his professional fighting career. And that’s why as former champions we are leaders and it is essential that we make theses stands for young athletes in our sport.”

Nelson and Carwin currently coach opposite on the current season of TUF. Nelson is a former winner of the show and Carwin was the company’s interim heavyweight champion.
