Georges St-Pierre Forced To Make Changes To Improve Self

Georges St-Pierre may feel like he is no longer the UFC welterweight champion, but he will still be announced as the titleholder when he steps inside the Octagon this November vs. Carlos Condit. The two will meet in Canada to unify the 170-pound belt at UFC 154: St-Pierre vs. Condit.

For GSP, just competing again is a blessing in disguise after losing his passion for the sport. St-Pierre has been out of action for over a year due to knee issues.

“I had a lot of personal issues and I lost the love of the sport,” said St-Pierre, during an interview on Fuel TV. “I was doing it because I had to, not because I wanted to.”

St-Pierre went under the knife and found that, during extensive rehab, that he did still have that desire to train and be the best fighter in the world.

“I changed a lot of stuff in my life,” St-Pierre said, “and my training, and the result is going to be in the fight.”
