Anderson Silva (32-4) had a BBQ like he promised following his UFC 148 victory over Chael Sonenn (27-12-1), but the challenger didn’t make an appearance despite being invited.
“The barbecue at the house happened, but unfortunately he did not come,” said Silva to TATAME.
Silva recalled the rematch and praised how it highlighted his native country of Brazil.
“It was a satisfaction, a sense of accomplishment,” said Silva. “Brazil was placed where it really should be. Other athletes who are supposedly thinking about speaking ill of Brazilians and our culture, our people, will think twice. I think Chael has learned his lesson.”
