Walel Watson (9-4) enters UFC 152 on a two fight losing streak, dropping his UFC record to 1-3. He heads into his upcoming fight against Mitch Gagnon (8-2) with the same mindset he always has, to stop the fight.
“I fight to be number one and when I go into fights, I’m never going to play it safe,” said Watson on MMA Weekly Radio. “It’s always been the same gameplan I’ve had my whole career, and that’s go in there, fight, finish and to be number one, one day.”
As Watson prepares for what may be his final time inside the Octagon, he remains focused on finishing the fight.
“Everybody’s mindset is going to be different when the opportunity and the situation arises, but it’s always way easier when you know you’ve got one goal and one mission and that’s to go in there, get W’s and finish the person that’s standing across from you,” said Watson.
