Vinny Magalhaes (9-5-1 NC) feels he will take home submission of the night when he fights Igor Pokrajac (25-8) later this month.
“I’m going to get submission of the night in the first round,” said Magalhaes on MMA Interviews. “I don’t think anyone on the card is going to get a submission as nice as mine. I’m going to go with something really fancy.”
Magalhaes has won his last five fights for M-1 as he makes his return to the UFC. Pokrajac is currently riding a three fight win streak.
“I’m not going to try and knock him out,” said Magalhaes. “If it happens, it happens. My focus is to take him down and submit him there. I always feel like to have the advantage at the ground. That doesn’t mean I’m going to take him down right away.”
Magalhaes vs. Pokrajac takes place on the preliminary card of UFC 152 on September 22.
