According to Tatame reporter Guilherme Cruz, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira will face Dave Herman at UFC 153 in October. The card takes place from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Nogueira (33-10-1) was slated to make his return earlier this year against Cheick Kongo, but “Big Nog’s” broken arm had not fully healed by the time the fight was set to take place.
Herman (21-4) has dropped two straight, falling to Roy Nelson and Stefan Struve. He had earned three consecutive victories prior to the setbacks.
“I put myself at the disposal of UFC Rio 3 (UFC 153),” Nogueira posted on Twitter. “I’m waiting for confirmation of the president’s (Dana White) event. Come on guys!” Nogueira later updated his account, posting, “I thank all of you who gallows asked me to be part of the UFC Rio card 3. Now we’re in. What do you think? Thanks (White).”
The UFC is still working on putting the main event for UFC 153 back together after UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo was forced out with an injury.
