Former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar isn’t picky about his next fight. Edgar, who found out on Tuesday that UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo will not be able to compete in October, is open to competing again whenever the UFC schedules him.
“If the UFC wants Frankie to fight anybody, he’ll fight anybody,” said Edgar’s manager, Ali Abdel-Aziz, in an interview with MMAjunkie.com. “It doesn’t matter. If they want him to fight on (UFC 153: Aldo vs. Edgar), he’ll fight on the card. If they want him to wait, he’ll wait.”
Abdel-Aziz added that “we thought (Aldo) was OK, and the champion he is, he tried to work through the injuries.” Aldo was involved in an auto accident where he was struck by a car while on his motorcycle. Initially reports stated that “Scarface” suffered minor injuries, including a swollen foot.
