Jon Jones (16-1) is not only ready to fight to Vitor Belfort (21-9), but looks to test how he handles a southpaw again when he puts his light heavyweight championship up for grabs.
“I’m just really excited to fight Vitor Belfort, mainly because he is a southpaw,” said Jones on UFC’s YouTube channel.”
Jones last fought a southpaw when he took on Lyoto Machida (18-3) at UFC 144. Jones won with a standing guillotine choke in the final minute of the second round.
“The last time I fought a southpaw I got punched pretty good,” said Jones. “I’m really anxious to do a better job against another dangerous southpaw and to look better than when I fought Lyoto.”
Jones vs. Belfort takes place at UFC 152 on September 22.
